Harrow Cubs And Scouts: Fun And Learning

In today’s digital age, it’s a common struggle for parents to pry their kids away from screens. However, in Harrow, a growing number of young people are embracing the joys of Cubs, Brownies, Scouts, and Girl Guides. Let’s explore the fantastic groups available in our borough that promise fun, learning, and adventure!

Harrow Cubs

For children aged 8 to 10½, Harrow offers some excellent Cubs groups:

  • St Peters Cubs: Located at St Peter’s Church, Sumner Road, they meet on Mondays from 6.45 to 8.15 PM.
  • Cabin Cubs: Found at The Cabin, 162 High St, Harrow Weald, they gather on Mondays from 6.30 to 8.00 PM.

These groups offer a plethora of activities like hikes, camping, and kite flying. Plus, they’re always on the lookout for adult volunteers.

Harrow Brownies

For girls aged 7 to 10, the 16th Harrow Brownies meet at Harrow Baptist Church. They engage in various activities to earn badges, including life skills, games, sleepovers, and camping. Meetings are on Fridays from 6.00 to 7.30 PM.

Harrow Scouts

With a motto of ‘learning while doing,’ Harrow Scouts boasts 37 groups and over 200 members. They cater to boys and girls aged 6 to 25, offering activities that promote physical, intellectual, social, and spiritual wellbeing. To find a group near you, visit their website for more details.

Harrow Girl Guides

The 16th Harrow Girl Guides and Rangers, also hosted by Harrow Baptist Church, meet on Fridays from 7.30 to 9.15 PM. Open to girls aged 10 to 14, they enjoy winter weekends away and an annual summer camp.
